Spring in the Sunshine State

Spring has arrived here in Florida after our version of winter! We are thankful to feel the sun on our faces and the rejuvenating breeze as the sun sets later and later each evening. During this time of year there are various ways to enjoy all that Florida has to offer…here are a few!

U-Pick Farms

Celebrating the abundance that God has provided is easy to do in Central Florida. Many local farms allow for customers to venture out into the fields and orchards for the opportunity to pick their own produce. Fruits that are harvested in spring are blueberries, peaches, strawberries, and even sunflowers!

Epcot’s International Flower & Garden Festival

If you are up for some tasty food and the sights and sounds of a theme park on a bright and sunny 80 degree day this is a must do! The Flower and Garden Festival is arguably the best festival that Epcot puts on, with topiaries, concerts, food booths, and scavenger hunts to entertain everyone in the family.

Mardi Gras at Universal Florida

Find a little bit of New Orleans in Orlando when the Mardi Gras celebration comes to town. Another fantastic theme park festival complete with food booths, a festive Tribute Store, and elaborate floats. Oh, and beads…lots of beads! Laissez les bons temps rouler!

Strawberry Festivals

With Strawberry Shortcake being deemed the new dessert of Florida, there are many festivals honoring this tasty treat. When it comes to Central Florida, you will find a multitude of strawberry festivals with the most notable being located in Plant City, a city built on the strawberry industry.

Enjoying the Water

It is now consistently warm enough to break out the kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards and get back on the water…some of you brave souls haven’t let the winter slow you down. Whether it is paddling through the springs, down rivers, across lakes, or out into the Gulf this is something on our Spring Must-Do list…be on the lookout for a video!
